Scam, What Scam?

We all get annoying emails from overseas, but how can you tell if they are real scam or not? Our WebStor team pulled 5 top scam emails from their junk files this week alone!

  1. Banks DO NOT ask for your personal details by email. Any email that looks like its from a bank is a SCAM. Here’s one supposedly from Westpac…

  1. The US Government would never contact you by email about millions of dollars that you know nothing about, let alone have a dumb email address from yandex.com, which is a search engine!

Unsuspecting people get caught out by these scams every day. The warning signs are obvious: if it looks too good to be true, then it is, especially when you don’t have rich relatives in other countries mysteriously leaving you cash!

If you are not sure, Google is your friend. Put the first line on the email into Google and the results will soon show you it’s a scam!
